A pregnant woman at Pandav Gufa rular municipality-3 in Bajura district is at high risk in lack of proper timely treatment in her locality. Fultukka Dholi, who suffered labour pain for two days in the Gotri health post, has been referred to the district headquarters-Martadi, which is at three days away of walking distance, for treatment after the health post failed to provide delivery service to the pregnant woman. Dholi is still suffering from labour pain. According to Dr Rupchandra Bishwakarma, Chief of District Public Health Office, Bajura, Fultukka is facing labour pain and she needs immediate medical treatment. The family members of Fultukka are trying to avail helicopter service for her to fly to the hospital for safe delivery but to no avail. Dr Bishwokarma shared that authorities of the Ministry of Health (MoH) and Regional Health Directorate were informed about deteriorating condition of Fultukka but the authorities said they did not have budget to mobilize helicopter. Despite that, efforts are underway to reach the Secretary of the MoH to help save Fultukka’s life as well as the unborn baby in her womb. Earlier, an expectant woman from Gotri VDC had reportedly died for want of timely treatment.
